THE ACCORDION KNOWN AS THE "OLD GREY" PAOLO SOPRANI WAS A HIGHLY REGARDED INSTRUMENT AND VERY POPULAR AMONG TRADITIONAL PLAYERS IN IRELAND DURING THE FORTIES AND FIFTIES. THERE WAS DISAPPOINTMENT WHEN THE MAKERS TOOK IT OFF THE MARKET. THE NEW PAOLO SOPRANI CLASSIC, RECENTLY INTRODUCED, IS MODELLED AND BASED ON THE "OLD GREY". IT LOOKS THE SAME AND HAS THAT DISTINCTIVE RING TO THE SOUND. IT IS COMPACT, LIGHT, HANDLES WELL AND THE CRAFTMANSHIP IS EXQUISITE. I WOULD REGARD IT AS A VERY FINE MUSICAL INSTRUMENT.

THIS IS THE NEW GREY 2 COUPLAR. THE GRILL DESIGN IS THE ORIGIONAL FROM THE 1940'S. THE JURY IS BACK ON THESE ACCORDIONS AND THEY ARE VERY POSITIVE IN THEIR COMMENTS. THEY SOUND LIKE THE OLD ACCORDIONS AND THE ACTION IS SUPERB FOR A 4 VOICE ACCORDION. THE OVERALL BALANCE IS ALSO GREAT. TO TOP IT ALL IT LOOKS SMART AND MODERN.

AT THIS STAGE THE CLASSIC 2 COUPLAR IS AVAILABLE IN RED AND GREY. THERE IS ABSOLUTLY NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BOTH. THESE ARE AVAILABLE OFF THE SHELF IN B + C AND C+# D BUT CAN BE ORDERED IN ANY KEY. THESE ACCORDIONS HAVE TO BE THE FINEST 4 VOICE ACCORDIONS AVAILABLE AND WITH THE TOP QUALITY TAM REEDS FROM VOCI ARMONICHE CREATE THAT EXCITING PAOLO SOPRANI SOUND.

Having gone the distance with the Paolo Soprani factory and produced the 2 couplar and the 3 voice, I realized that there were a lot of students and even professionals who were looking for more than just the lightweight feature. The Paolo Soprani sound was what they wanted but with options on this sound. With this in mind I went back to the factory and had them put in 2 middle octave reeds and also a low octave reed. With the quieter 2 voice, the option of closing off the loud bass when needed was obvious. Also the option of taking out the thirds for accommodating minor chords has become more popular in recent years for competitions etc. Overall this accordion has retained its genuine Paolo Soprani sound and because of its quality TAM reeds can compete with any other accordion on the market. This accordion has become the most popular accordion on my shelves since its ntroduction. Features include: 2 x Stoppers on bass, one to close off low reed for a quieter bass and the other to take the 3rd out to accomodate minor chords. THIS IS THE GREY VERSION OF THE 3 VOICE CLASSIC. IT HAS A LIGHTER SOUND ON THE 2 REEDS AND TO ACCOMODATE THIS YOU CAN USE THE STOPPERS TO QUIETEN THE BASS BY REMOVING THE LOW OCTIVE AND ALSO BY TAKING THE THIRDS OUT WITH 2ND STOPPER. WITH ALL THREE REEDS PLAYING IT SOUNDS THE SAME AS THE 2 COUPLAR.
