Sharon Shannon has been playing the stepped fingerboard version for over 25 years and Sharon approached the company about a flat version of the Tommy, they didnt have to do a lot, its the same frame size, same sound as she always had and today the very same accordion is now available to buy off the shelf. Castagnari has always respected Sharon Shannon for her style of playing on their accordions and finally they asked could they call the accordion “The Sharon” in her Honour.
Sharon has been approached by a few different companies over the Years to play their accordion and she obliges for the TV appearances but will only play one tune on the sponsored accordion and then she will always revert to the Castagnari Sharon as she is most comfortable with her Castagnari.
The Sound is the very same as the Tommy and unbelievably light with a big melodeon sound on the 3 reeds.
